Hey there fellow Trenndians, if you're here I'll assume your registration is already done..
So let's dive right into using the website :)
Post any inquiries or updates in the comment section and I'll update the post with the fresh new info!
Starting at the top of the website,
Multiple links are for exploring communities/topics, but some of the others will help you in your unwavering quest of knowledge.
1. Top header
2. Sections (Trending, Following, Subscribed)
3. Views (Card, Classic, Compact)

14. How to insert Clean Hyperlinks on Uptrennd
1. Top Header
- "How Uptrennd Works"
This leads to a page which explains some of the inner workings of Uptrennd, and how the system works. Some would consider this similar to a FAQ section.
- "Earn Points"
If you click, this neat little menu pops up:
^This beautiful section of Uptrennd lets you earn points by watching promoted videos, reading promoted articles, reporting bugs and offering optimization ideas or by completing bounties.
You can also directly puchase points here with Fiat or Crypto.
- "Purchase Advertisement"
Clicking this will bring you to a page that allows you to purchase ad spots and guaranteed views on the platform.
There are three main content sections on the website;
2. the Trending, Following and Subscribed sections.
- "Trending" Section
This is more of a general section for a broad range of topics that have gained attention from the community.
- "Following" Section
This is the section where you'll see posts from the people you have manually chosen to follow.
- "Subscribed" Section
This section will display posts from communities that you have manually chosen to subscribe to.
There are 3 types of views you can choose from, in order from left to right;
3. Card, Classic and Compact.
- Card View
- Classic View
- Compact View
There are three types of sorting methods on Uptrennd;
4. Top, New and Popular.
Sorting with "Top": This gives you results for the posts which have gotten the most Upvotes by the community, within the section you have selected (Trending, Following, Subscribed).
Sorting with "New": This gives you results for the the newest posts that have been uploaded by the community, within the section you have selected (Trending, Following, Subscribed)
Sorting with "Popular": This gives you results for the most actively engaged with content in the last 48h, within the section you have selected (Trending, Following, Subscribed)
What about the little "OC" checkbox??
Good question, if you want to "only" see Original Content (OC) check this box. Checking Original Content excludes reposts and copied content from your browsing experience!
Now we're getting somewhere,
5. On the top right part of your screen you'll find your Notifications.
6. You'll also find your various Settings menus.
Let's look inside;
7. In this same area there is also your progress bar for Leveling up.
Leveling up is a structural part of Uptrennd, when you level up you are investing into your account and increasing its profitability. Each level gives you 0.005 additional dollars per Upvote received, there is no max level but cost of leveling up increases at a rate of 25% points per level. For example;
Level 1 -> Level 2 requires 125 pts
Level 2 -> Level 3 requires 156.25 additional pts
Level 3 -> Level 4 requires 195.31 additional pts
You can earn points by receiving Upvotes and receiving Donations, or you can buy points with fiat & crypto.
Got it, what next,
Let's scroll down a bit and to see what else we need to know to become a true Trenndian.
8. Creating a Post.
9. Creating a Community. (Can only be done by level 3 users and up)
10. Selecting Communities to Subscribe to.
Communities are simply topics, by subscribing to them you can personalize your feed and be shown topics which you enjoy discussing and engaging with.
So we have a pretty solid understanding of how to navigate the basic parts of Uptrennd.
Well, it's time to start engaging with the community by commenting and posting content.
This platform supports free speech so.. Feel Free.
Ok, you clicked create post and there's a bunch of stuff there.. I won't leave you hanging like that.
11. Creating a Post (In Depth). This is what it looks like:
You'll need to:
11.1 Select a community (where your post will be placed)
11.2 Write a Title
11.3 Choose to Upload a header Image or Video, to Upload Audio or to embed a Link.
(Selecting "Image & Video" and uploading will place it as a "Thumbnail". More on explanations bellow on the popup, and the process at 11.6.
11.4 If you are creating this post from scratch, make sure to select the "100% Original Content" box.
11.5 Get your creative juices flowing and Write a post :)
11.6 If needed, add more pictures throughout your post by clicking the picture image here:
-> It'll open this window:
You don't have to pay attention to all of it for basic use. All you need for now is to click this tab:
Then, click "Choose File" --> Select an image from your computer --> "Open". Finally, click "Send to Server".
Once that's done, you can tweak its resolution if needed, the average monitor is 1080p, these monitors have 1920 horizontal pixels, I'd suggest always reducing the resolution to under 1500 pixels in width.
12. Boosting your Posts.
Uptrennd has 4 top spots on each landing page, anyone who acquires or earns points can invest those points into boosting their post of choice, which will place it at the top of the page for everyone to see.
You'll find this option in two places;
When creating a new post:
When you enter the amount of views you want to get, it'll show you the amount of points that will cost.
And in your "Manage Post" menu
Worth noting, Selecting "Purchase Advertisement" from the top header and clicking "Boost Post" leads to the same place as the picture above.
13. Other Advertising Opportunities on Uptrennd.
When you navigate to "Purchase Advertisement" on the right of the page header, you'll have multiple choices. Executing on any of them is super straight forward. Any concerns about this can be voiced in the comments bellow and I'll add info here. The choices are:
13.1 Promoted Video
13.2 Promoted Article
13.3 Boost a Post
13.4 Banner Ad

#8 @31:15 Price action and looking forwards
1) Samsung announces its flagship phone, the S10 will have abuilt-in cryptocurrency wallet.
- On average, Samsungs flagship phones sell 30- 50 million units.
- The Samsung S10 is still, in my opinion, a far better than storing on an exchange as you control the private keys. It is still not “the safest option” as it is a hot wallet, meaning it is connected to the internet. But it is a much better alternative than to trust an exchange with the custody. We saw what happened with QuadrigaCX recently where the CEO died and was the sole person who had the private keys. Over $140 million was lost because users were not the tangible owners of their own crypto.
- What implications does the S10 have on ledger and trezor:
* they are still by far the safest cyptocurrency storage option, as they are not connected to the internet.
2) Elon musk said that he sees Bitcoin as a “quite brilliant structure”.
“It [cryptocurrency] bypasses currency controls. … Paper money is going away. And crypto is a far better way to transfer values than a piece of paper, that’s for sure.”
There has been a big push for Elon Musk and to integrate cryptocurrency with Tesla, but he says because of how energy intensive it is, it isn’t the right move for Tesla at this time. Many people, including CZ ofBinance, have been trying to get Elon Musk to carry the Bitcoin Lightning Torch that we’ll talk about later, but he has yet to set up his own wallet to receive it.
3) Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey showed massive support for cryptocurrency stating that Bitcoin will likely gain mass adoption worldwide by becoming the Internet’s single native currency.
“I believe the internet will have a native currency and I don’t know if it is bitcoin. I think it [bitcoin] will be; given all the tests it has been through and the principles behind it, how it was created. It was something that was born on the internet, that was developed on the internet, that was tested on the internet…It is of the internet.”
4) Jack Dorsey additionally tweeted about “Tippin”, the Bitcoin Lightning Network browser extension created for tipping Bitcoin on twitter and simultaneously opened up his own up for tips.
Developed by Spanish coder Sergio Abril, Tippin adds a “lightning” button next to Twitter’s “retweet” button that, when clicked, brings up an address to which people can send Bitcoin microtransactions. The app has been around since December, but since its Chrome extension was released Monday, it’s been a highlight of conversation To work the app, users need only to set up a Lightning Network-enabled digital wallet, such as “Blue Wallet”
*** Okay hold on, what is the lightning network anyways? ****
The lightning network is an add-on upgrade to the Bitcoin Blockchain that will allow it to do more transactions per second, and for less expensive. For reference, the baseline bitcoin blockchain can perform seven transactions per second. Compared to Visa’s ten thousand transaction per second, it has a long way to go. Some people, like Roger Ver have thought to simply increase how many transactions the base layer of Bitcoin can perform by increasing the block size. However, many people are against this theory as it moves the mining and consensus power into the hands of only the big players like massive mining farms and other corporations. Big block sizes bring exponentially less opportunity for the everyman, while synonymously creating a greater centralization of power to “big money players”. Many people believe Bitcoin should be decentralized, and that is why they are against big block sizes.
To address this “big block size” concern, is the lightning network. The lightning network is a second layer solution that interacts with the base layer of the bitcoin blockchain. To oversimplify it, multiple transactions can happen between users off-chain and then the transactions are then re-appended at a later date. This allows for one on chain transaction to include potentially hundreds of second layer transactions. Transactions on the second layer lightning network can confirm in seconds as opposed to the ten minute block times of on-chain bitcoin transactions.
So without increasing block sizes, Lightning network provides a cheaper and faster way to send bitcoin.
5) Fidelity an institution with over seven trillion dollars under management becomes the first institution to take the lightning torch.
The lightning torch is a movement that was started by username @hodlnaut on twitter.
Hodlnaut started the torch by sending 100,000 satoshis ($3.40), the person who then recieved the torch added 10,000 satoshis, to make the total 110,000 satoshis, and passed it on to someone else.
Fidelity has gone on record in the past couple weeks stating that they will be rolling out a crypto custody solution for their clients. They gave crypto another huge vote of confidence being the 229th torchbearer and the first institution to hold it.
6) MEW allows for kyc-free fiat withdrawal
Most exchanges are currently plagued by mandatory KYC, where users are required to upload their Identification documents for access.
MyEtherWallet has partnered with a Swiss company calledBity to allow for withdrawals under $5,000
7)Binance DEX is live in testing mode now, but with some shady news overshadowing them…
** A decentralized exchange or DEX has no middleman, users interact with each other directly on the blockchain.
TheBinance DEX however has been set up as a hybrid of decentralization and centralization.
The “Binance Chain” that this DEX is running on is currently not open consensus. The only nodes that are allowed to verify on-chain transactions are chosen by binance.
That being said,users can set up witness nodes to be able to see and report any activity that may be deemed shady or fraudulent.
Binance states that in the future they do intend for open consensus where users can run validator nodes.
This weeks drama in Cryptoland:
Blocknet, a competitor DEX to Binance has released information on Binance having used their position to pull/extort detailed information from the Blocknet team, who is also building a DEX.
Blocknet submitted a standard form to be listed on Binance. In response, binance sent back another questionnaire form that had highly technical questions and were much more in-depth than would be needed for a listing. They had over four people from the binance team contributing to the question list that poked at every corner on how they were building their DEX and how they were going to be solving problems that presumably Binance was facing themselves while building their own DEX.
Some people of the opinion that binance was just doing due diligence for listing and that blocknet could choose to reveal or not reveal whatever information they wanted.
However, Binance is clearly in a strong position of power being by far the largest and most sought after exchange to be listed on. They essentially had Blocknet under their thumb, answer our questions, or don’t get listed. After Blocknet answered all of the over-the-top questions, Binance cut all communications with Blocknet.
I understand that binance is a for-profit business, and that outplaying and outsmarting competitors is crucial to success, but the way they leveraged their power to pull a bait and switch on blocknet borders borderline unethical
8) Price Action
In the last week we saw bitcoin rise from to $3,600 to $4,200, then flash crash back down to $3,750 within the hour.
On this rise, the sentiment had 100% shifted. When we were at $3,600, the large majority of people were calling for $2,400 per BTC and many calling for lower. After we wenton a couple day pump, which did NOT conclusively break the long term resistance line of 4,200-4,300, the majority of people were calling for $5,000 per BTC. Crowd mentality is far too easily swayed.
Then of course, once the price dumped. Crowd mentality instantly switched back to bearish... Critical thought and not following the crowd is clearly critical in the crypto space.
So what sparked this sudden pump?
Three things that I can tangibly see:
a) What wetouched on at the start of the episode: The weekly MACD indicator was looking extremely bullish, and once it crossed, a pump wasimminent.
b) Someone placed a 80,000 BTC long on futures trading to coincide with this MACD crossover.
c) Ethereum will undergo a network upgrade at block 7,280,000, estimated to occur on February 28th. Among many things, this upgrade will allow Ethereum to undergo more transactions per second and will also reduce the block rewards from 3ETH per block to 2ETH per block, known as “The Thirdening” The whole market tends to move in unison alongside ETH and BTC, so ETH could definitely be aiding drive the bullish charge.
I believe we have seen the bottom. I also believe that we have a slow but erratic climb ahead, full of high-volatility, "manipulation" and profit-taking.
The crypto space in the last year has undergone so much progress it's lucrative. The ceiling is much higher than 20k now.
If we stay within this channel, we'll remain bullish in the short term:
The market works in cycles, and Feb 1st marked the longest bear market in Bitcoin history. The changing of the tides in inevitable.
What do you think we will see first BTC at $3,000 or $5,000? Is crypto winter finally over? Let me know in the comments below and don’t forget to put in your guess for $250 of Uptrennd 1UP tokens.
See you next week!
Welcome to Uptrennd I guess.
Pretty interesting place to share content voice your opinion and get PAID.
I give it 1 year until we start seeing ads saying “how I travel the world while just posting on Uptrend”
Who knows, YOU could be the one promoting your own ads just like that in the future.
Anyway, how to approach content on Uptrennd, content that’s engaging, valuable and adds to the community.
This is pretty revolutionary so hold on to your seat, or bed…wherever you’re sitting on to read this post I guess.
The secret to content creation is…. TO POST CONTENT. I know who would have guessed it right? Post daily, engage with your followers, discuss what you are passionate about and build a personal brand.
Honestly whatever your passion is, it doesn’t matter. There are people who work full time literally talking about their passion for bees (big respect for bees) or their favourite kinds of trees. We live in a time where you can monetise any passion, Uptrennd is just rewarding you more than Youtube or Facebook does. I am allowed to mention them on this site yeah?
Maybe you’ve never really tried to develop content and build a following? That doesn’t matter, just post. I’ve noticed people are happy for you to make mistakes and develop what you’re doing because they are here for the ride, you’re just bringing them along on your own journey. As long as you are doing your best to provide value, your followers will support you.
Why post on uptrennd? This warrants a separate post but I will keep this short:
Attention is king. Wherever you can get the most exposure for less money is something you should look at. Right now Uptrennd is new, it’s cheap and easy to get attention on the platform and will be like that for a while. Take advantage.
Uptrendd rewards you finically much more compared to the current big social media players.
Cheap attention and more financial reward for your content, that’s why you should post on this platform.
This is my first uptrennd post, but it won’t be the last. I would like to point out I just opened my laptop and started typing. I didn’t overthink this content, I just created. Execution beats perfection.
What am I going to talk about in my next posts?
Not a clue… Finance, crypto, the next industrial revolution or the modern day prison we call 9-5, they are all on the table. Regardless, whatever I talk about WILL WAKE YOU UP. Even if one person changes their way of thinking and becomes free, either financial or emotionally I’m happy with that.
Either way this will be my journey… you’re just coming along for the ride
