I love to write. If I had the time and energy, I would write all day. While it is important to write every day to ensure that your skills get better, and your vocabulary broadens each time you write, you need to take time to ensure that what you write is written right. I must confess here that my editing often takes more time than writing the content itself.
What do I mean by 'written right'? I mean don't just write, ensure that your grammar and spellings are right. That is working towards skill improvement.
However well thought out your post is, if it is full of grammatical and spelling errors it doesn't bear well on everyone. That wouldn't also be a legacy you would like to leave behind. Would you?
Take the time to read. Read aloud, usually reading aloud helps as you also hear what you are reading and that lights up the mistakes easily. If you don't want to read what you've written, I guess no one else will.
Run it through easily available tools such as Grammarly or just write it in M.S.Word. It highlights most of your mistakes. Take time to understand how the mistake is corrected so you could avoid it in future.
Leave what you've written for a few hours and read it again, this would help you look at the content from a different perspective. You could come up with better ways of presenting the same ideas or adding more value to your content.
Enjoy what you write. I always tell people who ask me for tips on writing to have fun, let your passion flow. Write for yourself than for others. It's hard to please everyone, so the best person to please is you. Let me remind you here, if you are striving to better your skills you will be the hardest person to please.
Do not write just to add to the numbers. Write to add value. A fun post here and there is fine but do focus on serious content. Don't worry about the typos you make when your thought flow is smooth. You can take care of those in the process of editing. Stopping the flow of thought could sometimes become a hindrance to your writing.
If you want to be a better writer, read more, read diligently, make note of how new words are used in sentences. Do not use words when you do not know how it works in sentences. Take the time to study it how this word is used, what it means in different contexts. This way you will be sure to give your readers the information they need correctly.
Most importantly do not believe that you will never be a good writer, all of us are work in progress. Give yourself time and do what you do with passion.
