They had all packed for a 5 day adventure out at sea! They knew that they could put their minds together to formulate a great plan to set out and rescue Victoria.
Owe Ess had driven us all out past the Islands and into the great blue unknown. It was amazing! Nothing around but blue sea and sky, as far as the eye could see in every direction! Everyone was working together, gathering clues from the last few weeks, trying to pin-point where she could have been taken.
On day 1 and 2, they couldn't have imagined anything better. They were working as a team, certain that they would locate Victoria and come home with success! However, day 3 came with a nightmare.
A violent storm.
The waves battered them, tossed them wildly, the yacht scraped up against sharp, jagged rocks and water began leaking into the vessel.
Owe Ess called an emergency meeting in the middle of the night. "Listen, all. I'm not sure which news to give first. I'll start with the most pressing! Us! We have a leak in the boat. I might be able to patch with the help of Bee Ess, but the leak shouldn't become too critical for at least a few days. I'll have maydays out constantly - but - this storm will make it difficult for rescue. When things calm down, we do have lifeboats. So we can buy lots more time with those!"
A murmur developed among the group. Worries rose, but most people were remaining calm and steady.
Wa Jee piped up. "What else did you need to tell us?"
Owe Ess sighed a bittersweet sigh. "It's our city. The storm is picking up speed and power, and is headed directly for our beloved home."
Aye Bee clung to her sister's arm, "No!!! All our hard work!!!"
"All our plans to restore?" Tee Vee questioned.
"What will happen?? Are they predicting destruction?" Zee Dee asked, breathlessly.
"That's just it. I've been messaging there too. It's nothing but silence. I have no idea what's happening. If they are safe? If they are gone? If they are scared? No one is communicating back to my messages at all." Owe Ess sadly offered to the group.
"So, let's focus on our safety for now then." Ti-Elle spoke out. "We will hope that they continue to be safe there, and will send out a rescue for us when they can. They know of our location, and they know we need help. All we can do is trust that they care for our well-being. For us, let's try to get some sleep, huddled together in here. I don't want anyone getting separated! We need to stick together."
Everyone agreed. The best plan was to stay together, stay close, stay warm, stay calm, and stay safe.
As the night carried on, the group fell asleep, exhausted. They woke to the sounds of frantic crying.
"What's wrong, Aye Bee? Why are you crying???"
Aye Bee just pointed to where the lifeboats had been. Two of the boats had been taken, and by looking at the number in the group - they quickly deduced that two people had silently taken two lifeboats in the middle of the night to tend to their own safety. There had been enough seats in all three to take care of them all.
Now, the final lifeboat would only seat half of the remaining group.
Are you a Gamizen still on the yacht? Or are you one of the two that got away?
Explain who you are, and how you feel.
If you one of the two that got away, explain to the others why you did what you did, and where you are headed.
If you are one of the people on the yacht, explain how you feel and what kind of plan you have for the last lifeboat.
