Thiago Silva red's card caused Thomas Tuchel first defeat as Chelsea boss

Chelsea fc hosted West Bromwich Albion at the blues Stanford bridge in the first match after the international duties.

The game was going smoothly with Christian Pulisic giving the blues the lead in the 27 minutes. Things began to turn around and favour West brom as Chelsea defender Thiago Silva was booked red and shown the way out from the pitch in the 29 minutes of play.

10 men Chelsea wasn't able to absorb the pressure from the Visitors, Thiago Silva absence created a big vacuum and space in which the visitors capitalized on.

Matheus Pereira punished Chelsea severely, getting two goals in just one minute. He equalized for West brom in the 45 minutes with an assist from Sam Johnson. Matheus Pereira again gave West brom the lead in the same 45 minutes, thereby bring the scoreline to 1 - 2 at first half in favour of West brom.

In the 63 minutes of the second half, Callum Robinson made it 1 - 3 with a nice assist from Darnell Furlong.

In the 68 minutes, Matheus Pereira assisted Mbaye Diagne to take the score to 1 - 4 in favour of west brom.  Chelsea Mason Mount made it 2 for Chelsea with Timo Werner giving the assist thereby taking the scoreline to 2 - 4 in the 71 minutes.

At exactly 90 minutes, Matheus Pereira again assisted Callum Robinson to seal the victory for West brom by taking the scoreline to 2 - 5. The match finished at 2 - 5 scoreline in favour of west brom.

Chelsea fc had a total of 9 shots on target and 8 shots off target with 65% ball possession while West Bromwich Albion had 7 shots on target and 4 shots off target with 35% ball possession.

Even with this victory, West brom are still dancing around the relegation zone standing on the 19th position with just 21 points while the blues are on 4tb position with 51 points, though the result of today's matches may alter thier positions.

Yea..the long winning streak ended yesterday.

The red card really costed them..I Know chelsea would still keep up.

Losses are inevitable

Though Thiago's red card contributed to the defeat, the main reason is that the defense was too porous and all the defenders were so heavy on ground and also confused. Many teams do receive red cards but still win or atmost pull a draw. Chelsea lost tactics yesterday.

That was one of the worst defeat in Chelsea football history.. That was a real shock! We have witnessed that the red card could create disasters..

Well I never expected a team like westbrom to end Chelsea winning streak it was shocking, though the red card contributed I expected more than that from Chelsea but it wasn't just their day. I know they will pick up themselves and return to winning ways. It was a wake up call for them
