What makes the Rawang Bypass rather special
after all, we had seen so many bypasses
and that all wanted
propose a bypass
to ease congestion
or shorten travelling time

Federal Route 37 also known as
Rawang–Serendah Highway,
is a federally-funded
highway bypass in Rawang,
Selangor, Malaysia.

Opened on 28 November 2017
Construction costing RM628mil
began 16 July 2005
and finally completed
on 21 November 2017
What makes it attractive and unique
is it is the tallest highway
in the country which
involved the construction of pillar structures
at a height of 58.2 meters.
2 hours due to severe congestion
now only 30 minutes

took a long time
due to environmental concern
protests from environmentalists
and pressure from residents
the route was realigned and redesigned
along the border
of the Selangor State Heritage Park
to minimise the impact of the project

unique landmarks
in road construction history.
motorists feel
as if they are driving through the fog (mist)
after it rains or early in the morning.
Took into consideration the impact

on the environment to maintain the ecosystem 

as it was built through the Selangor State Park.

The project took up about 23.6 ha
of the forest land from its 64 ha.
preserving the Giam Kanching,
a species of tree which
can only be found in the park here,
not anywhere else in the world

The road should also
open up Serendah
and the surrounding areas
an enclave undervalued
close to the city
