The world economy has swung to a new low since COVID-19 hit the globe in a new way like none before. Leaving developing and underdeveloped countries in a state of new definition of poverty, unemployment and hunger.
Recently, the lockdown in Nigeria was eased to enhance light population in places while upholding social distancing of a least 2meters and a standard curfew of 6AM - 8PM daily movement. However, it head been observed that most people do not actually believe this coronavirus exist in Nigeria; with some believing these infection or death rate are as a result of political game to falsified data to loot the public funds.
Moreso, the reported death and infected cases keep increasing daily, the Nigerian reported coronavirus spread curve has never flattened since day one but continues to peak.
It was devastating that Muslims gathered together in massive crowds in Mosques to pray in Kano, Bauchi and some other northern states of Nigeria in defiance of the Federal laws/directives and caution against COVID-19 spread.
In relativity to this, the Nigerian Government were bent over indirectly to further ease the lockdown to allow religious gatherings where it is almost certain Nigerians will not engage in the social distancing.
It is my hope that the coronavirus curve flattens, else, with this new decisions of economics and further ease in lockdown will only result in a National outbreak of COVID-19.
