Day 9 of 20 day juice fast: gotta be kidding me. lol

My son made waffles for dinner tonight.

For the whole family.

I'm gonna go ahead and leave this right here.

preview not available

So - let me ask you, what would you choose?

Delicious, buttery, sweet, crispy, delicate waffles?

Or...

juice.

yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh pretty much what I choose too!  HOWEVER. what did I put into my mouth?  juice.

juice.

day 9, baby.  It's all about the juice hehehe

So yesterday you guys were wondering what that stick was?  Well.... the body has two forms of energy.  Utilizing glucose - or, in the absence of carbohydrates, your liver will produce more ketones than it usually does - and then send those ketones through your body as a form of energy!

The cool thing about that is... that's when your body starts to go to your stores of fat to burn!  How cool is that?

All the times that you overate, and your body had to "store up those excess calories" as fat in all those hiding places... (hello thighs, hello jelly belly hahahahaha)   now... it's finally time to start burning them up!

I have been on a keto diet in the past, and I have to say - it was a pretty cool way to eat!  Lots of veggies, GOOD fats, meats, lots of berries - no sugar, no processed simple carbs, no junk!

The meals we ate were INCREDIBLY filling, delicious, and left us feeling super content!  (which is surprising because I always thought I needed starchy foods to feel "filled")

But overtime, we changed the way we ate -and I kinda forgot about the keto diet.

I knew (having studied it for a while) that there was a good chance that with my fast, I might be switching over into ketosis.  Not only is it a great way to burn those excess stores of fat - but which do you think is the MOST efficient source of energy for the body?  Glucose or Ketones?

Yep - you guessed it!  Ketones are the more efficient.

But in the world we live in today - (sugar-coated! hehe)  It take an intentional choice to switch your body over to that mechanism.

so - at least for the duration of this fast, I hope to keep my body into ketosis as long as possible and draw on all the benefits!!!

I think I know some of it without going into details. I am a vegetarian for a long, very long time so much so that I have almost forgotten the taste of chicken and other meats.

However, there was no health reason for leaving everything non-vegetarian but a request from my most loved one (She is a born vegetarian).

I am not a foodie anyways so I miss nothing sweet or sour but trust in "Eat to live rather than live to eat kind". I know you will soon achieve your target and keep your glucose or hyperglycemia  (or whatever is that hehe) under control.

hehehehe yes  ketosis :)

the ketosis will most likely be a temporary condition - but its ok!  I'll enjoy it while it lasts

and your loved one must be so healthy to never eat meats!!!  and i am SUCH a foodie hahahaha

but i too try to eat to live  :)   it is a challenge because i'm married to a chef who makes incredible food - and my children do also hahahaha

and my mom did also LOLOL

but - i really don't mind staying away from meats.  I could probably live 90% off of them

and my boys decided to go vegetarian since Jan 1 of this year  (hubby and son)  and they really haven't said they miss it at all!

so who knows - maybe we will join them  maybe not  hahahah i don' tknow - but life is an adventure! :)

-Hi Ma'am! Good morning! Hehhe even the waffles was salivating in picture heh heh he At home, we usually prepared more on protein and fats, that is why in every meal I always make sure that all the components are presents, Meats and another source of fats, some vegetable, My Dad always follows one Filipino researcher/doctor who's principle is Protein and high fats heal even the last stage of stroke and other illnesses. He has the website and I also applied his principle with my son recently! And some researchers/doctors in the USA recognized his principles too. I heard a lot of great testimonies about the keto diet!

Blessed Morning!❤🌷

I thought they do a urine test for pregnancy and not a blood test :)

hahahaha its not a blood test.

the color of the marker was that dark pink because there is an indicator on the stick that turns shades of pink to purple if ketones are present in the urine hehehehe

Hey @Suny, They do a blood test for pregnancy, it's actually more accurate than the urine test.

As matter of fact, the most accurate is ultrasound for this test.

7, 17, or 27 years of marriage makes no difference for someone willing to become a mother provided the age is in their favor.

Yeah, but not when you're only 4 or 5 weeks pregnant.

8-12 weeks and you can even see and talk to your child :)

Ket what? This is another theory that I would add to my knowledge on food digestion and storage, KETONES.

My thoughts didn't go that way at all. But it's fine, the fast continues, burn all the fat away and keep fit, in preparedness of old age.

heheheh yes - we always have to think of how we are going to finish this race in our old age!!!

everything we do now - is a step in one direction or the other! hehehe

ketones - yep :)

its fascinating!

I laud your courage and determination. I wish I can also be like you but it's always better when you see the person that can ginger you towards getting it done together.

Surviving on juice for the past nine days is not a joke but it comes with his own benefits and also spiritual benefits.

You're one in a million ma
