My son made waffles for dinner tonight.
For the whole family.
I'm gonna go ahead and leave this right here.
So - let me ask you, what would you choose?
Delicious, buttery, sweet, crispy, delicate waffles?
yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh pretty much what I choose too! HOWEVER. what did I put into my mouth? juice.
day 9, baby. It's all about the juice hehehe
So yesterday you guys were wondering what that stick was? Well.... the body has two forms of energy. Utilizing glucose - or, in the absence of carbohydrates, your liver will produce more ketones than it usually does - and then send those ketones through your body as a form of energy!
The cool thing about that is... that's when your body starts to go to your stores of fat to burn! How cool is that?
All the times that you overate, and your body had to "store up those excess calories" as fat in all those hiding places... (hello thighs, hello jelly belly hahahahaha) now... it's finally time to start burning them up!
I have been on a keto diet in the past, and I have to say - it was a pretty cool way to eat! Lots of veggies, GOOD fats, meats, lots of berries - no sugar, no processed simple carbs, no junk!
The meals we ate were INCREDIBLY filling, delicious, and left us feeling super content! (which is surprising because I always thought I needed starchy foods to feel "filled")
But overtime, we changed the way we ate -and I kinda forgot about the keto diet.
I knew (having studied it for a while) that there was a good chance that with my fast, I might be switching over into ketosis. Not only is it a great way to burn those excess stores of fat - but which do you think is the MOST efficient source of energy for the body? Glucose or Ketones?
Yep - you guessed it! Ketones are the more efficient.
But in the world we live in today - (sugar-coated! hehe) It take an intentional choice to switch your body over to that mechanism.
so - at least for the duration of this fast, I hope to keep my body into ketosis as long as possible and draw on all the benefits!!!
